English-Speaking Psychologist and Therapist
Guillermo Myro Domínguez
Licensed Psychologist in Madrid specialist in Mindfulness and Compassion-based Interventions and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Therapist by vocation
I am Guillermo Myro Domínguez, a Licensed Psychologist by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and recognised as a General Health Psychologist (Psicólogo General Sanitario). From a very young age, I have felt a deep vocation to accompany people in their processes of change — understanding the roots of their suffering and helping them cultivate balance, well-being, and enhancing health.
My curiosity about the profound connection between mind and body led me to further my education in the United States, where I pursued postgraduate studies at Harvard University. During this time, I collaborated with Dr. Ellen J. Langer’s Mindfulness Laboratory and the Real Colegio Complutense in Harvard, Boston. I completed my training at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMass) as an instructor in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs, a formative experience that greatly shaped my clinical and teaching approach.
Upon returning to Spain, I continued to specialize in Mindfulness and Compassion-Based Interventions, completing official training programs such as: Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) – Center for Mindful Self-Compassion in Saint Louis, Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) – Stanford University, Mindfulness and Interpersonal Relationships Programs – Metta Foundation.
I also expanded my clinical expertise through postgraduate studies in Psychosomatic Medicine, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Brief Psychotherapy, and Psychological Assessment and Psychodiagnostics, accredited by SEMPYP and the Official College of Psychology of Madrid (COP).
In recent years, I have deepened my focus on somatic approaches, completing a five-year professional training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy at the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, founded by Dr. Pat Ogden (Colorado, USA). I am also trained in EMDR (Level II) through the European EMDR Institute.
Experienced Psychologist and Therapist traineer
In my clinical practice, I offer therapy for English speakers in Madrid, which I combine with teaching and professional training in mental health prevention and promotion, as well as in psychological skills related to stress management, depression prevention, trauma, and emotion regulation. I consider education and clinical work deeply complementary and mutually enriching.
I am the Founder and Director of my own Mindfulness Training Center, and for the past nine years, I have served as Director of the Expert Program in Mindfulness for Clinical and Social Intervention at the Official College of Psychology of Madrid.
Additionally, I have been a lecturer and instructor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad de Nebrija, and the Institute of Psychological Studies of Madrid, supervising students as well.
“I firmly believe that deep change becomes possible when we learn to listen kindly to both the body and the mind, integrating experience with awareness and compassion. Living consciously and in balance is not merely a wish — it is a commitment to one’s own well-being and integral health.”
Online therapy
Alongside in-person sessions, I also offer online therapy through secure and confidential video conferencing platforms. These sessions provide the same quality, empathy, and effectiveness as in-person meetings, while offering greater flexibility and accessibility — allowing us to work together regardless of distance or schedule constraints.
